Lovewell Center Director

Congregation: Hope Church Las Vegas

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:
The Director of The Lovewell oversees all programs, staff, volunteers, and members of the Lovewell Center. The position is hands on during day-to-day activities and outreach. This individual has strong leadership qualities by loving and guiding like Jesus. The position collaborates with the departments at Hope Church, the Hub, and other city partners/agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Vision & Oversight of the Lovewell Staff, Program, & Culture:

Leadership & Staff

  • Collaborates with The Hub: LV team for growth and planning.
  • Oversees hiring of new LW staff.
  • Oversees budget and takes accountabilities for all resources.
  • Actively participates in Equipped Trainings and other Hub and Hope-wide events.
  • Accountability and support for staff roles on LW team.
  • Provides and seeks education and empowerment for self, team members, and volunteers.
  • Oversees internal operations of the LW.
  • Oversees Lovewell Crew Members.
  • Provide vision and future growth for the LW.
  • Set the pace for new programs/endeavors within the LW, protecting team health and sustainability.

Program

  • Assists in creation of new and ongoing Lovewell classes.
  • Provides research and development for LW.
  • Oversees services and member perks.
  • Handles donations and inventory for LW.
  • Oversees, creates and launches outreaches.

Culture

  • Sets the language and branding the LW and The Hub (for Members & Volunteers).
  • Handles all Lovewell celebrations and events.
  • Oversees LW policies and procedures.

Skills Required:

The Lovewell Director requires someone who can lead a large group of people who are vulnerable and have suffered tremendous pain and suffering in their lives. This person needs to be empathic while being a strong leader and showing the love of Christ. This position requires a unique combination of firmness and gentleness. A passion for connecting hurt people to Jesus and resources needed in changing the people they serve living situation and behaviors.

  • The ability to lead and inspire staff, mission teams and volunteers.
  • Ability to build a great team (both staff and volunteers)
  • Leadership skills required to define and manage a set of goals to serve in the best possible ways.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiator and mediator.
  • Incredible people skills.
  • Able to be a team player.
  • Passion to serve in all lanes of The Hub when emergencies arise, and to encourage team to be a part of the entire Hub and Hope team.
  • A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly.
  • Needs to be continually learning about and connecting with new resources.
  • Ability to remain calm in a crisis
  • Ability to connect with those who may have addictions, mental illness, trauma, etc.
  • Advocate for the vulnerable to city partners, officials, the church, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
