Perspective on the Storm

"For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream. And will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green. And it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit." Jeremiah 17:8

Jeremiah 17:8
“For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream.  And will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green.  And it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:8

What does our fear and anxiety reveal about our relationship with God?  What it exposes is the fact that our trust in God is either very weak or nonexistent.  And ultimately what it shows is that we doubt the very God we say we trust.  If we truly trust Him, when trials and temptations come and when the storm begins to blow, fear and anxiety wouldn’t plague our lives.  What if we began to see the trial, temptation, and the storm from His perspective?  If we could only see things the way He sees them, we would know that they are being allowed into our lives for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28).  We would see how all things are according to His plan for our lives.
