What Is Baptism?

The Bible has a lot to say concerning the symbolic practice called baptism. We hope the following information will help bring some clarity on a few common questions relating to Baptism.

Who Should Be Baptized?

The Bible teaches that a person should be baptized to publicly declare their relationship with God. It is the first step of obedience when you surrender your life to Jesus. Baptism symbolizes life before Christ, burial with Christ in His death, and being raised as He was raised to new life! We believe that when a person becomes a Jesus follower, they should be baptized to publicly declare that to the world!

The first step in baptism at Hope Church is attending a 30 minute baptism class where we get to know you, hear your story, and discuss from the Bible this powerful picture called baptism.
