"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not calamity to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not calamity to give you a future and a hope.'” – Jeremiah 29:11

God always has plans for the “welfare” and “future” of those who are His.  He always has plans to give His children “hope.”  The biblical definition of “hope” is a “confident expectation of something better tomorrow.”  Even in the middle of His sad and sobering words of judgment in this passage of Jeremiah, God poured out His heart for His people.  He showed them hope by pointing them (and us) toward the relationship.  Often the circumstances He allows are designed to cause us to “call upon” Him.  We’re always able to respond, seek, and find Him because He wants us to respond, seek, and find Him!  At Hope Church, we believe that Christianity is about a relationship and not a religion.  God wants us to be daily abiding with Him in relationship.  If we are daily seeking His wisdom and righteousness, all of our “plans” will work themselves out because they will be His plans.

How would you describe the hope you have in Christ?
