“If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.” John 13:14-15
Charles Stanley says this about humility: “Humility in the life of the believer is the mark of greatnessnot because you shine when you are humbled, but because when you submit to God’s will, He shines through you.” Seen in the washing of the disciples’ feet, Jesus displays the greatest act of humility before His followers. This job was usually reserved for the lowest in society. But the King of Kings knelt on His knee and showed us what true humility looks like- considering others as more important than yourself (Phil. 2:3-5). As followers of Jesus, we shine the light of Christ in us when we follow His example of displaying humility toward others in the body of Christ.
Today, how can you live with an attitude of humility toward others?
