“If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” – Romans 12:18
Most of the time, when we are upset or on bad terms with others, we don’t usually think of what we can do to make the situation better. We think that since it’s not our fault, the other person should take the initiative in reconciliation! But Paul says differently. He tells us that as far as it depends on us, we are to live at peace with all men. In other words, do as much as you possibly can to reconcile with the people you are at odds with. Some of the relationships in your life are in need of some serious reconciliation, some of whom do not know Jesus. The truth is there is no greater demonstration of the Gospel than reconciliation between two parties who are at odds with one another – that’s the story of us as believers! And because God has reconciled us, we should seek reconciliation with others.
Are there any relationships in your life that need reconciling?
