"But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves." Luke 23:34

“But Jesus was saying, ‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.’ And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.” – Luke 23:34

The most tragic event in human history was the absolute injustice seen in the mock trial of Jesus Christ. Though completely innocent of the charges brought against Him, they condemned Him to die on a hill called Calvary. Remarkably, while hanging on the cross, Jesus pursued the Father in prayer on behalf of the soldiers that were crucifying Him. He asked that God would forgive them of their wrongdoing. This reminds us of one of the characteristics that mark the life of a Jesus follower: the ability to forgive others despite an injustice or the depth of the wrong committed against them. You may be innocent of the charges some have brought against you. However, are you letting Christ in you forgive others through you?

Are you holding onto any unforgiveness toward another person?
