“How blessed is the man whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! – Psalm 32:1-7
David opened this psalm with a profound statement about what brings happiness in life. He pointed to the person who has found forgiveness of sins as the one who is blessed, who is happy. Psalm 32 flows out of the great anguish of David’s heart as he groaned under the load of his guilt. He knew how that felt, but he also knew the joy and relief of experiencing God’s forgiveness. Martin Luther once said, “Sin has but two places where it may be; either it may be with you, so that it lies upon your neck, or upon Christ, the Lamb of God. If now it lies upon your neck, you are lost; if, however, it lies upon Christ, you are free and will be saved.” If your sin is upon Christ, you enjoy the blessing of a clean conscience. With forgiveness of sin there is freedom!
Is there any sin in your life that is weighing you down today? Why not go to the feet of Jesus and confess it to Him. He has already paid the price for you and covered that sin!
