“But charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him, for he shall go across at the head of this people, and he will give them as an inheritance the land which you will see.” – Deuteronomy 3:28
Sometimes, in order for us to take our next step of faith, we need a little shove from our friends. Fear can easily immobilize and hinder us from accomplishing what God desires to do in and through us for His Kingdom. The way we combat this is through the help of our family in Christ; it’s those who encourage and “shove” us in the right direction. God’s Word tells us that being alone is a sure defeat, but the companion of others strengthens and allows us to have victory over the things of this life (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Before Joshua was able to become the great leader that God desired him to be, He first wanted him to be encouraged and strengthened by his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Who in your life is “shoving” you in the right direction?
