Next Gen Director

Congregation: Hope Church Boulder City

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:
The Next Gen Director will oversee the Hope Kids ministry, Hope Students ministry, and reach out to the parents of both, equipping leaders and families to be spiritual champions. This includes providing care and teaching for the children, youth, and parents to guide them toward living the life of a Jesus follower.

The Next Gen Director will interact with and report to the Pastor of the Boulder City congrgation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The job of the Next Gen Director is to help the families of Hope Church Boulder City to thrive and grow in their personal and familial spiritual walks.

This includes:

  • Recruit teachable, growing, exemplary volunteers to whom you can pass along that which you do while coaching them as they do it. Your metric of success is multiplying yourself.
  • Create Safe and Clean environments for all children from Birth thru High School by developing and implementing safety, and security protocol.
  • Schedule and ensure that each classroom has trained, qualified, and loving adult leaders who will teach children God’s love for them through His Word.
  • Provide leadership which encourages spiritual growth and unity among all volunteers.
  • Ensure all classrooms are stocked with proper supplies.
  • Ensure sanitization of toys and classrooms weekly.
  • Organize and order supplies to be staged in storage area.
  • Plan and implement events for weekly Hope Kids classes and activities
  • Provide ongoing training and leadership development for yourself and all volunteer leaders throughout the year.
  • Recruit and schedule volunteer leaders for all age groups
  • Seek out, evaluate, and provide solid, biblical teaching materials for each class.
  • Submit monthly and annual budgets for Family Ministries.
  • Plan & implement events and activities for families of Hope Church BC.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Skills Required:

The Next Gen Director must be someone who can build relationships with families who attend Hope Church BC, while providing encouragement and training to strengthen their spiritual walk and connect them to live the life of a Jesus follower.

Specific skills required include:

  • Ability to find and implement training materials to prepare volunteers to adequately teach and lead children and students of all ages
  • Ability to seek out and evaluate appropriate curriculum for every age level which is Biblically based and engaging.
  • Ability to take said curriculum and implement it into the classroom setting, providing volunteers with materials, support, and training to effectively reach the children who God brings to us.
  • Organizational skills to plan and provide materials for each classroom in a timely manner
  • Communication skills to keep volunteers aware of their assigned dates of service, materials and curriculum needed, as well as keeping in contact to build relationships within the team
  • Ability to use F1, our church software, to schedule volunteers, keep the calendar up to date with events and special occasions, and to communicate with volunteers as well as parents/families.
  • Print and organize weekly lessons and extra activity materials
  • Personally greet and welcome families upon arrival at every event – Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, special events.
  • Create, plan, and implement activities that will build community within the body of the church family – creating opportunities for connecting and building relationships
  • Identify other individuals who may have a calling to serve God in this same field and create opportunities for them to grow and lead.
  • Be proficient in using PowerPoint to create weekly lessons for each classroom, to create a framework of consistency regardless of how many different people teach a class each month.
  • Connect with parents and build relationships with them. Aim to discover what they need to grow and lead their families to be spiritual champions.
  • Provide materials and training to parents in how to lead their children/ grandchildren to implement God time, Gather time, Group time and Go time as a regular rhythm in their families.
