"'But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.'" - Romans 12:20

Romans 12:20
“But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” – Romans 12:20

Jesus made it clear that the most important commandment of the Bible was to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37).  But the second most important commandment was just like it:  “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:38).  The question is this:  do we really live this way?  How often do we treat people like we ourselves would want to be treated?  When our enemy is in need, do we rejoice in their downfall or come alongside them and help?  Jesus said to love your enemies and to do good to those who hate you (Luke 6:27).  Why?  Because while we were enemies of God, He loved us and gave up His only Son for us.  How then can we not love others with the same love with which He loved us?

Who in your life can you show the love of God to?
