“My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” – James 5:19-20
There’s a weighty privilege we have as Jesus followers of being agents of reconciliation. It is our job to always be on the lookout for each other because it is the tendency of our flesh to drift away from the truth of the Gospel. We need others to remind us of the truth when we begin to stray from it. While we don’t have the power to cover sin, we do have the power to be His ambassadors of grace in each other’s lives. We have this responsibility to one another, and that is the beauty of the Gospel. When we wronged God, He was the one to make us right with Himself through His Son’s sacrifice on the cross.
