“Go therefore and make disciples” – Matthew 28:18-20
A disciple is a Jesus follower. As Jesus followers, Jesus tells us to connect more people to do the same. Where do we find these disciples? Jesus seems to find them everywhere He goes as He calls out fishermen, doctors, and tax collectors. As you spend time with God daily and connect with His family consistently, God will begin to speak to you and show you who you are to connect to Him. He may speak a name to you in your God Time, or while you are having lunch with a co-worker, or while you are working out at the gym. The word “Go” literally means, “as you are going”. As you are going about your day, God will gently and specifically speak to you and show you. This relational way of sharing Jesus will lead to the disciples God has chosen for you to lead. Remember to not be afraid. You have all the authority of heaven and earth on your side!
As you think about where you live, work and play, what names come to mind of people that need to connect to Jesus? Take a moment and ask Jesus to give you the words and courage to share His story with them.
