“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3
When God births a church, it’s never just about one city. He has the nations on His heart. Psalm 67:7 says, “God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him.” The same God who told Abram that he would make his name great and would then make Abram a blessing to other, has blessed you — not as an end in yourself, but so that you and your family may be a blessing. Throughout history, God’s activity in our lives here, locally, is always connected to the big picture of what He is doing globally. That is true of our church, your family, and your very life!
How has God has blessed you so that you may be a blessing to others?
