“He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.” – Proverbs 28:13
It’s no mystery that when we fall we struggle with being open and honest about it. It’s not natural for us to confess the ugliness of our sin. So what do we do? We brush it under the carpet and try to forget it, thinking that we don’t have to deal with it. The reality is that hidden sin only leads to a hardened heart. This passage teaches us that concealing our transgressions won’t lead to the outcome we are hoping for. Living with unconfessed sin will fail to bring us joy. But if we confess and forsake our sins, we will find something we didn’t think possiblecompassion! Thus leading us to freedom from guilt and further in the joy in Christ.
Are you living under the illusion that unconfessed sin is okay?
