In all areas of life, we are inundated with different processes, most of which are focused on speed. If a process is slow, we get frustrated. If it is tedious and complex, we become annoyed and tend to give up. Likewise, as Jesus followers, God has us in a process of conformity to Christ, and we are all at different points in that process. Because of this, we tend to view those behind us in the process as “less-than” or with an “one day they’ll be where I am” kind of attitude. Rather, we ought to “bear with one another.” Meaning, we are to endure despite an indifference. In other words, let us not give up on one another. Recognize those as opportunities for discipleship and teaching, not as an excuse to turn our back against one another.
