“Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.” – Titus 3:14
Do you want your life to count? Do you want it to mean something? If you’re a person of faith, you know life is about more than just your wants and needs. It is about loving others. We are never more like Jesus than when we are serving others and meeting their needs. Paul, in this little passage above, connects Christian fruit to two things: “to engage in good deeds,” and “to meet pressing needs.” This means that as Jesus followers we should be living a lifestyle where we are always on the lookout to make a difference in the lives of others, to do whatever is needed. When we walk with God in this way and live in His Word, we can depend on Him to grow the fruit in His time and in His way.
