“and behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
There are few things worse than being apart from the one we love in the midst of distress. For example, many children get separated from their parents when walking through a mall or grocery store. It is not as though the children are alone. There are others in the store with them. However, they are away from the comfort of the presence of their parents. We have people all around us, but when God gives a mission to go into all the world in His name, we want to know that He is with us. When Jesus says that He is with you, He is with you through His Spirit in power, conviction, protection, counsel, gifting, authority and love. And He promises that He will never leave you or forsake you. There will be times when you feel all alone, but know that He is present, not only now, but until He calls us home to be with Him. And what a day that will be when you see Jesus face to face!
Do you ever feel alone? How can you begin to remind yourself of the reality of God’s presence with you?
