“The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” – 2 Timothy 2:2
If you’ve ever worked a job at a restaurant, you know that there are some people who take it seriously and those who don’t. The role of the manager of that restaurant is not to make sure everyone is doing their best. The role of the manager is to recognize those employees who are excelling and invest in them further! Likewise, as we pour into others’ lives and disciple them, it is not our job to “choose the good ones.” God alone knows the content of hearts. We are to simply recognize who is striving and growing in Christ and invest in them further! As we invest in their lives, we encourage them to begin investing in others’ lives so that the discipleship cycle can continue!
Do you find yourself trying to find people that meet a certain standard before you invest in them? May God give us the grace to invest freely but wisely to see who is receiving the investment well.
