“So the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God for our good always and for our survival, as it is today.” – Deuteronomy 6:23-25
As you enter into a love relationship with God through salvation in His Son, you come to understand that there is nothing God would give you that is not for your good. You may remember when you were a child, one of your parents would discipline you and at the same time would say, “This is for your own good!” You may have thought you knew better because, at the time, all you could see was what you wanted. But now you understand that your parents were older, wiser, and had many of the same experiences so they knew what they were talking about. It is the same with God. He knows all. He sees all. He is sovereign, and He knows what is best for each and every one of us. Here, we are asked to do two things: (1) observe all these statutes and (2) fear the LORD. To obey the wisdom of an all-knowing God and to stand in awe of Him is for our good and survival.
Can you think of one specific area God has shown you that He would like for you to trust Him in?
