“Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” – Matthew 14:22-27
Have you ever been on a boat when the wind was high and the water was rough? Those types of weather conditions will bring the strongest man to his knees. The disciples found themselves in an extremely dangerous situation which filled them with fear. Jesus, who wasn’t with them when the boat left the shore, walks to them on the water, climbs into the boat, and says, “It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Interestingly, if we read verse 22, the Bible says that Jesus “made them get into the boat.” Did He not know that the storm was coming? Of course He did. That’s the reason He sent them into the sea. Jesus knows what is coming in our lives and allows it in order to deepen our trust in Him. What are you going through? Thank Him for it because He has allowed it to conform you to His image.
