“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
At some point in life, every person must make a decision whether to live life according to personal preference or according to the unchanging Word of God. Our limited understanding can easily lead us astray. Proverbs 16:25 says, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” When we choose to lean on our own understanding and direct our lives according to what seems right to us, we often reap disaster. But God never changes, and His standards never change. When we trust Him and His promise that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28), we can trust Him with our hearts and know that He will never fail us. Even the best-laid human plans cannot begin to approach the magnificence of God’s plan.
