"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." - John 13:34-35

John 13:34-35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” – John 13:34-35

What did Jesus mean when He said that we should love others, “even as I have loved you”? Does that simply mean to care about them more? Listen to them more? Call them every day? How much more does Jesus expect us to love one another? Prior to this verse, Jesus had finished eating dinner with his disciples. He soon would set His garments aside, wrap a cloth around His waste, and begin washing the feet of His disciples one by one. He explained that by doing this, He was setting an example for them to follow. The point was this: a Jesus Follower is first a servant. We are never more like Jesus than when we serve! Think of a way today that you can serve others as Jesus did.

Out of the overflow of your relationship with Jesus, how can you serve others today?
