“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.” – 1 John 4:11-12
If no one has ever seen God, how can we ever know Him? God is known, not only in Jesus as the complete expression of God in human form, but also in the manifestation of our love for one another. When we love one another, the invisible God reveals Himself to others through us, and His love is made complete. In fact, when John writes that “His love is perfected in us,” he means that it reaches its intended goal when it flows from God, through us, to our fellow believers. The love with which God loves us must be extended to all believers.
