“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned.” – Colossians 4:2-3
At Hope Church, we have a saying that states, “We don’t pray before we work. Prayer is the work, and then God works.” In this verse above, Paul was asking for prayer for God to work. He prays, “open up to us a door for the word.” As Christians, this should be our daily cry to God: that He would open up a door of opportunity for us to share the Gospel with those around us. Beyond that, we should be praying for eyes to see those opportunities that He has already set out before us each day (Eph. 2:10). As we live our lives as an overflow of Christ in us, people will be attracted to Him. Be ready to share what He has done in your life. People are watching.
When opportunities arise, are you ready to share the great work that God has done in your life?
