“Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” – 2 Timothy 3:12
How many times have you either heard this said or have said this yourself, “I am being persecuted”? Maybe it’s at work, on a local sports team, or at school. Indeed, there is such a thing as persecution on account of Christ in us. That much is true. However, often times when someone says, “I am being persecuted,” it may not be persecution as much as it is a consequence of foolishness. This verse teaches us that real persecution is a result of following Jesus. It’s not persecution if what you are experiencing stems from an unwise decision or foolish actions toward someone else. However, as you and I passionately pursue Jesus, the Bible promises that at some level we will experience biblical persecution.
Are you experiencing biblical persecution or consequences of a foolish decision?
