“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son” – John 3:16
There are few feelings in life that compare with the joy that is found when giving a loved one a special gift. That act impacts both the person receiving the gift and the one giving it. Spiritually, the Gospel at its core is a message of generosity. Did you hear it? John wrote the words, “that He gave.” We are the humble recipients of God’s gracious gift of His Son. And a characteristic of our lives, which results from receiving this gift, is an attitude of radical generosity. We are never more like Jesus than when we give. Part of sharing in the mission locally and globally is giving through the local church as an investment in God’s activity.
