“But He answered them, ‘My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.'” – John 5:17
In most sports, coaches tell their players to stay on their toes because it is from that position that they can be most affective in their position on the team. This position allows them to be ready for anything that may happen. Jesus lived His life ready to join in God’s mission. In John 5, some religious people were harassing Jesus because He healed a man on the Sabbath which broke the Old Testament law. Jesus replied to them that God’s activity is not contingent upon days of the week but is always working to see His plan of redemption take place. Like Jesus, we must always be ready to join in God’s activity even if it does not “fit” our schedule. Today, live with sensitivity to how God is working around you and seek to join Him in His activity.
Do you regularly seek to join in God’s activity where you live, work, and play?
