“See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled.” – Hebrews 12:15
Being a part of a family demands responsibility. Indeed, different members have different roles, but all have some level of responsibility to the overall health and wellbeing of the family. The same is true spiritually. When you and I are saved by grace, God did not save us to leave us on our own. He saved us and gave us a family: the Church. One of the responsibilities we have to each other is to make sure that we persevere in the faith (Hebrews 3:12-14). For example, we must encourage one another to keep going despite the various trials we may face. We must confront one another when there are obvious sinful patterns and habits in our lives. This is healthy. This is family.
Are you living life with other believers in community in order to encourage them to persevere?
