"If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us." - 1John 1:8-10

Being a Christian doesn’t mean you are perfect or that you will be perfect in this life. What it does mean is that you are in a never-ending battle with sin and the flesh. Pastor Vance often says, “Holiness isn’t the absence of sin, it’s the presence of a struggle.” But if we say that we have no sin in us, we make God a liar. However, if we acknowledge our sin to Him, he graciously and righteously forgives us and cleanses us of even the things we don’t know about! Proverbs 27:16 tells us, “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again”. In Christ, though we may stumble and we won’t stay down. Because of God’s grace and the work of His Son on the cross, we can embrace His forgiveness for our shortcomings and rise again.

Have you acknowledged your sin to God and embraced His forgiveness for your shortcomings?
