“They quickly forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel.” – Psalm 106:13
When someone suffers from “Amnestic Syndrome” or as most know it, “Amnesia,” they have a deficit of memory. In layman’s terms, they forget things easily. All throughout the Bible, God’s people are constantly battling spiritual amnesia. A couple of years ago, our creative team at Hope wrote a song out of Psalm 78 talking about this biblical reality. For further reading today, spend some time reading Psalm 78. If we’re honest, the apple has not fallen far from the tree! Our flesh is very forgetful. We must fight our propensity for spiritual amnesia and surround ourselves with other believers who can encourage us in all the blessings and grace of God in our everyday lives. Fight your forgetfulness, and praise God for His favor!
Have you quickly forgotten God’s works in your life? Take a few minutes to thank God for all the grace in your life. Be specific, and write down what you’re grateful for!
