“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19
Many Christians love to hang onto the truth of this verse! And it is a glorious verse. But there is something very important that we must see in order to truly understand the meaning of this verse. As we’ve discovered over the past few days, verse 19 is in the context of investing in God’s Kingdom activity. Meaning, this verse is true only when we seek first His Kingdom (Matthew 6:33). When we live out the principle of “always a portion, sometime a sacrifice” as it relates to our giving, God promises to then supply all of our needs! That’s when we can rest assured because all the resources of Heaven are at His disposal when we give.
How might this verse change your perspective on giving?
