“teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” – Matthew 28:18-20
Teachers have an amazing platform to influence students. For example, teachers encourage students to not give up when studying for the big exam. They sit with them when they are struggling to grasp a concept. They celebrate with them during their graduation ceremony. Similarly, in obedience to the command of Jesus to make disciples, one of the ways that happens is through teaching others. However, our goal is not to teach people information about Jesus, but to show them what it means to follow Jesus through our life and our lips. We model with our own lives how to follow Christ and we also verbally instruct others how to do the same in their own journey.
