“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.” – Romans 8:16-17
As a child, you had certain rights and privileges. You had the right to identify yourself by the same last name as the parents who gave you birth; and you had the privilege of being provided with basic human needs, like shelter and food, for free. Even if you were adopted into a family, you have the same rights and privileges. In Christ, we are grafted, through adoption, into God’s family and that makes us heirs! Being an heir means you have the legal right to receive the property of someone who dies! Jesus has died for you, and you have the right to receive all the Kingdom’s resources through Jesus His power, His glory, and His eternal riches, for free!
