“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12
The Bible is like a sword that pierces and penetrates us. It cuts through our calloused hearts and selfish minds. It doesn’t do so to inflict pain but to give life. God’s Word is a fountain of life that’s always fresh and pure. At times, it will wound and convict us, but it will always heal. We will be better for the truth that it imparts. When we approach Scripture, we should do so with the knowledge that it isn’t fooled by us; it understands our hearts even though often times we can’t! Fundamentally, God wants us to spend time with Him and His Word. The Bible is the primary platform for us to know and grow in our relationship with Him. The more time we spend meditating and learning from it, the more God can do in and through our lives.
How are you being purposeful to set aside time to read God’s Word? What can you do today that will make reading God’s Word daily a priority in your life?
