In today’s culture, a waiting room is never talked about positively. Whether you are at the DMV or at the doctor, the waiting room is a dreaded place of delay. But as Jesus followers, sometimes the “waiting room” is the place where God does the most heart work. Imagine for a moment if God answered every prayer immediately after you prayed it. Think back over your life and ask whether or not you would’ve learned and grown without the waiting.
There are many things in our world that we must wait for to enjoy. Cookies in the oven take time to bake. Flowers take time to bloom. Financial investments take years to grow. All of these beautiful gifts from God would not be what they are without the waiting. The life of a Jesus follower is no different. We are what we are because of the waiting. Don’t waste your waiting because if you wait well, you will see that God is making something beautiful.
