"With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints." Ephesians 6:18

Ephesians 6:18
“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.”                    – Ephesians 6:18

To guard against the destructive forces of the enemy, whose plan is to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10), one of the weapons of our warfare as Jesus followers is the weapon of prayer. This verse describes several things about prayer. Specifically, it talks about when we are to pray: “at all times.” Does this mean that we are to live a monk-like existence, disengaged from the world? Of course not! When the Bible talks about praying at all times, it is encouraging us to be in constant fellowship with God through prayer. As we go throughout our daily lives, we are to utilize the people we meet, places we go, thoughts in our minds, and emotions we feel all as opportunities to be in communion with God through prayer.
