“And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;” – John 16:8
In the verse prior, Jesus strengthened his disciples by telling them that it was good for him to leave because if he would go, the Holy Spirit would come. Imagine being one of those disciples with the Incarnate Christ standing before you saying, “It is to your advantage that I go away.” How radical is that idea? The reason for His leaving was so that the Holy Spirit could come to empower His disciples like never before and would convict the world concerning sin and lead people in God’s righteousness. Jesus was just one man, though fully God, he was still a single individual. The Holy Spirit though, could be everywhere at anytime with anyone, leading them to trust in Jesus or empowering them for the mission of Jesus. And today, the Holy Spirit personally and intimately walks with us as Jesus followers, right now, in this moment, and forevermore.
Are you walking in step with the Spirit moment by moment?
