“For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name.” – Psalm 33:16-22
Every day that we wake up we have a choice to make. We must decide if we will submit to God and put our lives in His hands or try and live our lives in our own strength. The Psalmist who wrote Psalm 33 was well aware that no amount of power or prestige that we try and achieve on our own could compare with the hand of God. Verse 16 says, “A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.” Do you want to live each day with your heart rejoicing? If so, you must place your trust in the Lord, not in the things that this world says we need for security or prestige. Our hope rests in the promise of verse 22, “Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.”
What choice will you make today? Will you trust in His holy name or trust in your own strength?
