“Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.” – Deuteronomy 28:1-2
Throughout the Old and New Testaments, God has always called those who follow Him to a life of obedience. This should mark our lives as Jesus followers. However, if we aren’t careful, obedience can become the focus of the relationship, not the fruit of the relationship. You see, a Jesus follower walking in obedience is yielding moment-by-moment to Christ in them living through them. Isn’t it true that we need Him in order to not succumb to our daily temptations and struggles, to love our family, neighbors, and the nations? Therefore, obedience is not self-effort, but His life!
Are you yielding to Him living His life in and through you to live a life of obedience?
