Hope for the World 2025 Week 1 | The Danger of Spiritual Myopia

Hope for the World 2025
Nov 9, 2025
John 4:27-35

We kicked off Hope for the World 2025 with Pastor Tom McCormick teaching from John 4:27–35.

In this message, we were reminded that every follower of Jesus has a mission—to share the gospel with others. The good news isn’t something to keep to ourselves but to share with those who don’t yet know Him.

Together, we explored how we can take part in God’s mission right here in our city. Watch the sermon to learn more!

Hope for the World 2025
The Danger of Spiritual Myopia // John 4:27-35

“Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, ‘What do you seek?’ or, ‘Why are you talking with her?’ So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, ‘Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?’ They went out of the town and were coming to him. Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, ‘Rabbi, eat.’ But he said to them, ‘I have food to eat that you do not know about.’ So the disciples said to one another, ‘Has anyone brought Thim something to eat?’ Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” John 4:27-35

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Spiritual Myopia:
Is the ability to see what is near us, but no ability to see what is far from us.
