“American’s Mental Health Ratings Sink to New Low”
Dec 7, 2020 article by Megan Brenan in Gallup News

“More than eight months into the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S., Americans’ reports of mental health are much worse than a year ago.”

“It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those [a]who would believe in Him for eternal life.” - 1 TIMOTHY 1:15

I. CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT A PROMISE GOD MADE

The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."—Gen 2:16-17

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.—Gen 3:6

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.”—Gen.3:7-8

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.”—Romans 5:12

“For the wages of sin is death…”—Romans 6:23a

“The Lord God said to the serpent, ‘Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all the cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life; and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.’”—Genesis 3:14-15

II. CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT A PERSON WHO CAME

Christ Jesus came into the world…”

“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form”—Col.2:9

“The incarnation is the most cataclysmic event in all the history of the universe. Every other historical fact pales in comparison to this incomprehensible wonder: God has come in the flesh…He did not come as a full-grown man, but as a helpless infant who had to learn how to walk and talk, how to read and write. As a boy and young man He studied and memorized the Scriptures, of which He is Himself the author. He studied by the light of an oil lamp, though He is Himself the creator of electricity.”—Clyde Cranford (Because We Love Him, p.144-147)

III. CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT PEOPLE BEING SAVED

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”—Romans 5:8
