This weekend, we entered chapter 3 of Acts and Pastor Jordan preached from verses 1-10.
In this passage, we see a miracle take place when a lame beggar is healed. As we study this story, we discover that not only do we see a miracle, but a window into how Jesus restores people. When Jesus restores a life, the change becomes visible. He restores people in ways that reveal His power to the world, and people wonder. And wonder opens the door for faith.
What real need do you have today that you can bring to God for restoration?

Acts
From the Gate to Glory
Acts 3:1-10// March 1, 2026
“And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, ‘Look at us.’ And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, ‘I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!’ And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.” Acts 3:4-7
“And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” Acts 2:43
The Gate
“Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms.” Acts 3:1-3
The Gaze
“And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, ‘Look at us.’ And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.” Acts 3:4-5
Jesus restores a man with leprosy (Luke 5:12-13)
Jesus has compassion on a widow (Luke 7:13)
Jesus stops and heals the bleeding woman (Luke 8:43-48)
Jesus sees and calls Zacchaeus (Luke 19:5)
The Gift
“But Peter said, ‘I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!’” Acts 3:6
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11
The Glory
“And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.” Acts 3:7-8
“Then shall the lame man leap like a deer.” Isaiah 35:6
“And all the people saw him walking and praising God, and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” Acts 3:9-10
When people see what only Jesus can do, they begin to ask questions only Jesus can answer.
How can we respond?
1. Bring your real need to Jesus
2. Reopen your expectation
3. Live your restoration openly
4. Join in God’s restoring work
5. Receive new life in Jesus
