RESPONDING TO GOD’S VOICE

SECTION 1: A BIBILCAL FOUNDATION

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Psalm 25:4

Discerning God’s will demands hearing His voice.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11

Thus says the Lord God: Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep? Ezekiel 34:2

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

1. GOD’S PEOPLE KNOW HIM.

2. GOD’S PEOPLE KNOW HIS VOICE.

People are meant to live in an ongoing conversation with God, speaking and being spoken to. –Dallas Willard

3. GOD’S PEOPLE TRUST AND FOLLOW WHAT HE SAYS.

SECTION 2: MY PERSONAL JOURNEY

I will give thanks to you in the great assembly; among throngs I will praise you. Psalm 35:18

From day-to-day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like an army of God. 1 Chronicles 12:22

David managed Israel’s leaders for optimum effectiveness in service to the Lord. This is similar to how Jesus loves His church. He assigns various gifts as needed for the good of the body of Christ. Just as national changes in the era of King David called for adjustments in the use of leaders, so Christ manages the church’s changing needs. –The Jesus Bible
