In this message Pastor Scott teaches from Colossians 1:15-18. We learn that Jesus is not a teacher about God, He is not just the way to God, He is not even just a man who became God, Jesus Christ is and always has been 100% God! At Hope Church, We Magnify Christ Above Everything.

We Magnify Christ Above Everything

“… I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

WE MAGNIFY CHRIST ABOVE EVERYTHING!

COLOSSIANS 1:15-18

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

A ridiculously high view of God will result in ridiculously humble people.

1. JESUS CHRIST IS GOD

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. V. 15

“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature…” Hebrews 1:3a

The single most important thing in the universe, and for your life individually, is what you think about when you think about Jesus Christ!

2. JESUS CHRIST IS the creator of everything

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities…” (v.16a)

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” (v.16a)

1.    Does my life matter?

2.    Why am I here?

“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:36

3. Jesus Christ is the sustainer of everything in creation

“And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” v.17

WE MAGNIFY CHRIST ABOVE EVERYTHING!

“And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.” v.18

A ridiculously high view of God will result in ridiculously humble people…

“When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself.” John 12:32
